07 Icon Help Two Contracts...Two Member Numbers???

We just got past ROFR with an add-on. Not sure about all the details as the closing company has to reach out to finish the process. I do know that we are not combining the contracts, for various reasons. That being said, will we have two contracts, two member number, two web logon ids, etc. Just trying to get a handle wha to expect going forward.

Why would you have two member numbers? We have a contract for AKV and added points at BLT. Everything is listed under our original member ID.

OK, thanks. That is what I was trying to ask, 'Would we have two member numbers?' I bought through resale. Is there anything I should worry about or ask during closing to make the process go smoother?

Thanks again.

Sorry, I read your post wrong and thought you said that you were already given two member numbers. I couldn't figure out why DVC would give you two numbers! Once the sale goes through, you'll be able to access everything online or via phone with your one existing ID.

I didn't purchase either of mine through resale, but maybe someone else here has and can give you some advice.

ROFR stands for Right of First Refusal. Disney is able to keep the prices of their timeshares up through this process. For any contract sold on the secondary market Disney has the right to buy that contract at the price agreed upon between seller and buyer. It is not a big issue if you are working a contract at a reasonable per point price. Some people try to lowball sellers and these contracts get scooped up by Disney.

It will all depend on your use year. If you have two different use years then you will have two different member number numbers, etc. We have two currently and will have three (hopefully) in a few weeks.

Both our current member numbers are under the same login, so either way you would not need to have multiple logins.

We have 4 contracts with 2 different use years all under the same member number. 2 contracts are August 2008 and 2 are for August 2009. I purchased them all directly from Disney, if that makes a difference.

Congrats on getting through ROFR Daze and good luck with your add-on Goofy!

Are you saying you prefer to have these be separate master contracts even if you could combine them as a master and an add on? If you do have separate master contracts you will have two member numbers. I think you can view them both from the same login on the members website but I'm not sure. You cannot combine points from the two contracts to book an individual night unless you use your one transfer per UY for both contracts to transfer points from one contract to the other. You can book whole nights from each contract and link them in to one reservation.

If you wanted this resale to be an add on to your current master contract the two contracts must have the same Use Year and be titled the same way. You should talk to the closing company to let them know you want this set up as an add on if that is what you would prefer. You should also contact Member Accounting when you close to let them know your contract will be coming through and that you want it set up as an add on. Then follow up to be sure they did it. Sometimes despite everything, they set it up as a separate contract but if you catch it quickly they might fix it.

You actually do have the same Use Year - August. The year doesn't matter, just the month. So you have a master contract and 3 add ons. If you had two different Use Years (August and October for example) you would have two master contracts, each with its own member number.

Are you saying that I'll be able combine my new contract points with my existing AKL points once a year? Or move my AKL points over to my new contract?

Tell me if this is right, if I only have 25 points at VGC, but have 160 at AKL, I can move the 160 onto VGC and have a total of 185 to use there as long as I only make a transfer once a year.
