Default Resort Suggestions...Planning a 2010 Trip

We are looking to plan a 2010 trip to WDW. We are DVC owners and want to get some suggestions on where to stay. Here are some things to consider.

1st. our travelling party is as follows: Family of 5 - 2 adults, 3 kids (two 6 yr old boys and one 1.5 yr old boy) plus one of our Moms (62 yr old).

2nd. we may or may not have a car. It depends on how the little one can handle the trip. Right now he hates the car but he is still facing backwards. Hopefully he will change once we turn him around.

3rd. The resorts we are considering are as follows: Animal Kingdom Villas, Boardwalk Villas, Saratoga Springs, Bay Lake Towers (standard view here...MK view is too many points), Old Key West.

4th. the trip is most likely occuring the week prior to Thanksgiving.

5th. We will purchase park hopper passes but no water parks. We will not be getting the dining plan. We will either place an order for food through Garden Grocer or make a supermarket stop(if we drive).

Thanks for your suggestions.

What size room are you considering? 1br or 2br?

My opinion is Animal Kingdom Villas. If people need to go back to the hotel to rest, or if you won't be at the park every day this (IMHO) has the most relaxing atmosphere. There are also tons of free children's activities at Jambo House in addition to the arcade and animals. The new Kadani pool has a kids play area too.

Since you may not have a car, I would say either BLT or BWV, since both offer transportation to a park or parks in BWV's case.

What!? LoL... ALL Disney Resorts offer transportation to the Parks. It may just be a bus, but it's still transportation.

LOL, sorry. I meant to say they offer transportation to some parks without having to deal with a bus. I just remember how the bus and stroller was not a lot of fun to deal with, much easier bringing the stroller on the monorail or boat.

I agree with TP, and I'd recommend BWV. The boats to Epcot and DHS are great, almost like a ride in itself. And much easier to manage with a stroller and kids than a bus. There are fun things on the BW during the evening, and Epcot is just a short walk away... great for Mom and Dad to get a little "grown-up" time while Grandma watches the kids.

If you do end up with a car, you might try THV. You get a 3BR for the points of a 2BR. Plus, what kid doesn't like a bunk bed? Also, what is the kids favorite park? You probably don't want to be at AKV with no car & have the kids wanting to go to MK everyday.

Although, from a selfish streamers point of view, AKV & BWV have REALLY nice views!!
