I am planning a trip for Apr 26 - May 2 and have read and read about the EMH's. I was wondering what do you think of them, Go or Avoid? Last year I avoided them based on what TGM said on his website. But how do I know if they are crowded (or not crowded) if I wasn't at them. What was your experence?

We normally take advantage of the EMH...
I think it really would depend on the ages of the children. My kids are older and like
to sleep in and stay up late so we normally do not do the morning emh unless its a park we
cant wait to get to. During the EMH I always think its less crowded but because a lot of people
choose that particular park for the entire day based on the EMH and then you add that number
to the folks who had just planned on spending their day at that park and yes the park can
get slightly more crowded. Maybe if your going for the morning EMH you could plan on hopping
over to another park after the EMH or after lunch, especially if its a park you dont normally spend
the entire day at anyhow. Sometimes when we know MK is going to be open for EMH until 2am
we sleep in, go to another park for the day, take a break (maybe nap or swim) then head back
to MK after dinner and stay until closing! Of course that would not work if I did not have older
children (17) and (13). There have been times during EMH especially later in the night that we
could just walk on to every ride and attraction. Even when there are lines during EMH I
have never noticed them being anywhere near as long but this is just our experience.

I agree you have to test to see what works for you.

We do all the EMHs thinking extra Park time is Extra park time. We go in June/July so the Hours are longer and EMH extends even that.

If you have to choose then do the AM ones they get the most bang for your Buck. We then leave that park around 11am-1pm for a mid-day resort or waterPark break. Then we hit the PM EMH just to be in the parks sometimes it's very crowded and you don't get much done but it's time in the park.

For everyone that chooses to do EMH I'm sure there are those that don't so how it effects the other parks is hard to guage.

I enjoy the emh's and take advantage of both morning and evening. The morning one to me is the best, i can get tons done before the part offically opens. But the evening one is a little more difficult, seems a little bit more crowded to me, plus now since they will not be having the wristbands anymore, you have to show your KTTW key everytime you ride, it will delay the ride times from what i hear, along with the other guest who dont understand the emh. But i still do it cause it just gives me more park time!

All you can do is go try it. Crowds vary, but I don't think you'll be disappointed. For me, mornings seem far less crowded than evenings but I know it depends on the season.

We usually do them as well - the morning (if you get there right at opening) is usually less crowded. Nighttime EMH can be as crowded as mid afternoon.

Morning EMH, yes, everywhere except Animal Kingdom. Get there EARLY and park hop after 11 a.m. to a non-EMH (morning or evening) park.

Evening EMH, no, everywhere except Animal Kingdom.

We are night owls, and we've tried to go get some enjoyment out of the MK's evening EMH several times, and it's NEVER a good experience. Crowded, and so many over-tired, miserable kids! The rides don't get to be short waits until the last 20 minutes, I don't care how late the closing time is. I'd say go for the atmosphere, but everyone is crying, tired, and cranky. It's not a happy place, in my humble opinion, at the MK for evening EMH.

Personally we like the evening EMHs best because we'd rather sleep in. :icon_lol:

The crowds usually don't seem too bad, but we never go during the busy season either.
