Verizon wireless caved in to my asking them every day if I can upgrade a new phone before my trip down to Disney. :icon_lol: Actually I got a mailer today saying that I could upgrade early. So bingo I called tonight to order the new Motorola Droid. From everything that I have read it's a sweet phone with a 5.0 camera. :icon_biggrin:

I'm going to try and stream as much as possible, well as much as the battery allows. I'll fill in some more information closer I get to the time I depart. But I plan on streaming Osborne Lights, Holiday Wishes & Illuminations.

I had an unlimited data plan with my voyager and now got the data plan for the droid. When I log on it says I have unlimited data. But I"ve been reading that it's not actually unlimited and you only get 5 gigs worth? Also reading about tethering but I"m not sure what that is. Can someone explain how this works. I don't want to wind up with a huge bill. I'm headed to WDW Dec 10th.

Also, not sure if you knew about this but there is a beta version of QIK that you can request to use. They are trying it out. Supposed to be higher quality videos. I did DL it and have noticed improvement.

:icon_cool: Very Cool. It's so easy to stream from the cell phones too. I love it!

Verizon wireless unlimited plan is 5gb a month. Also the tethering is when you connect the phone to your laptop, then you use the phone to provide Internet access. I do this with my BlackBerry when on the road for work. Not the fastest but great when you get called something is not working. Just pull over on the road, connect it up and good to go.

So I'm getting close to leaving, we leave in 5 days. I plan on streaming when we enter WDW property so that would be about 11:00am on Wednesday, December 2. I will stream live until we reach All Stars and then see what I can do while we are checking in too.

Okay, just found another app for my Droid, this one is Ustream Broadcaster, so I just might be using this instead of Qik. I'm testing it right now and it seems to broadcast a little bit better than Qik, without the buffering.

So Noose, Mike or mme, I'm going to need maybe 2 channels, if you can get me the information that would be great.

UPDATE:

Here is my plan for Wednesday so tune into Feed #2.
We arrive in Orlando around 9:30am and will make our way over to get our luggage and then down to get the rental car. I will probably stream from monorail over to the main terminal using Ustream broadcast on my phone.

I'll also broadcast as soon as we hit those lovely WDW arches, so that should be around 10:30am I would think.

We are going over to Animal Kingdom as we have a lunch reservation. I'm not sure if I can get the internet set up before we leave if I don't I'll stream with my cell at Animal Kingdom. I would like to stream some of the parade.

During the evening we will make our way over to the Studios to see the Osborne Lights which are from 6-8pm. Now I won't stream the whole 2 hours, but stay tuned as I'll stream when I can.

I wasn't able to watch your QIK live, I watched it later in the night. It came out great. Thank you for doing that. Looking forward to the CP. I never got a chance to do that. Have a great trip:)

Just an FYI, I will be in WDW from Dec 10-16th and hope to do some QIK streams.

I'm not sure how to link it up to these feeds and not sure how much I'll be filming(I do want to use my better quality camcorder for many things) but I hope to stream the parades and fireworks and stuff. I will be doing a tour of the castle suite and may try and stream that...if it's even allowed. I would think pictures would be allowed for that.

For what it's worth, it's raining here in Verona (Italy) too, and probably a good deal colder than where you are. Meant to be nicer tomorrow though so may take a walk down to the old town before I have to go home. No streaming though, LOL.

Another update. I'm back at the room because we got drenched. We aren't going to Candlelight Processional as the radar looks bad for the rest of the evening. Half of America's Garden isn't covered & I don't want to sit in the rain so I'm trying to find another venue for dinner tonight. Wish me luck.

I just got the Droid today, and it is amazing!! ustream app is amazing great audio and video. Little to no lag!!
