All vbulletin boards are targeted by profile "silent spammers" they dont even need to post and the site can end up getting blacklisted for spam. Since I added them to my blocked list I get 1 registration attempt per week instead of 100, just saves time having to moderate users etc. Waternoose 01-10-2009, 04:39 PM All vbulletin boards are targeted by profile "silent spammers" they dont even need to post and the site can end up getting blacklisted for spam. Andre tivogirl 01-14-2009, 12:57 PM What we did at my day job is add a human verification question. We just added one non-standard question to the registration and required it. Bots don't know the question or how to answer it. This has taken our spam registrations down to almost nothing! |
