Does anyone know if there is free WiFi at any of the resorts? I've heard that some of the DVC resorts might have this. I don't want to lug the laptop and was hoping to get by with just my iTouch.

Some areas have wifi, very spotty though. Take your own wireless router and create your very own hotspot...

I remember when we were over the boardwalk i got wifi on my ipod touch.. it was near the stores.

But i know some of the other resorts we stayed at like the beach club and WL i was not able to get wifi in my ipod touch.. so like garethslee said its very spotty.

That is exactly what we ended up doing. The lobby of BCV had a hotspot. MANY people hanging out down there with laptops. We brought our router and used that from our room. However, it was free for us because of DVC.

I found a spare router. Now I just have to figure out how to set it up. :)

Does the Internet in a DVC room require a browser to sign in and set up the connection? I have a portable D-Link that plugs in and I'd like to know, before I pack it, if that will be sufficient.

When I was just there, I had my router plugged in all the time. The first time each day that I wanted to use the internet, I had to accept that "charges" on the initial screen that Disney puts on there. Since it was DVC points I was staying on, there was no actual charge. From then on, the router would keep the connection active and all laptops using it worked fine.

The problem for me is that I won't be using a laptop. I'm trying to find out if I can get Internet access on my iTouch, since I'm not sure how it will handle that initial screen to accept the charges. I've tested it in a couple of places that had free WiFi (like at the car dealership when some work was being done on my car a week ago). It worked fine, but then again, there was no login screen.
