This happened not too far away from us. DS said some people at school knew both the victim and the murders. It's horrible!! I spoke with someone who knows the family and it is bully related. The child actually was moved from one highschool to another to try to avoid/get away from some trash talking that was going on. It is so so sad!!

Yup and this is what happens when you let things go and chalk it up to harmless Schoolyard Bullying
Kids are now not like they were even just a few years ago. We see it all the Time up here in the City , The Inner Harbor is a place where I don't allow DW or DD to go now without me.
It's Sad just so Sad our children have to live like this

150% inexcusable. I personally hope they are all tried as adults and have the book thrown at them.
This just burns me up!

This is so very sad! We had a young boy about 12 hang himself a few years ago in the next town over. They said it was due to bullying also. It should 100% not be tollerated! They committed murder they need to be tried as adults!

Just added link to the newest story below.
The newest report is now that the kid being tried as an adult is part of some "gang" at the school. This is the first time I have heard anything about gang activity here or at the schools. I'm not sure if the news meant an actual Gang, like Crips or MS13 or the like or if they just meant a group. It was so not clear on the report. They showed his pic on the news this morning, looks like a punk!
I hope the 2 arrested roll on their partners and give names. All involved need to be held accountable. And I think they news also needs to give names all the names! My niece attends the high school now so I am sure I'll get some more details and names through the grape vine!
My DS came home from middle school yesterday and said he has some classmates that knew both Chris and the kids arrested. I wonder if the middle school will address this or not. The high school sent home a letter and had counselors available for the kids.
There was a candle light vigil last night. Had I known in time I would have gone. I drive by that area once a week taking DS to one of his activities.
I wasn't so much on DH's band wagon to move but now I kinda am, especially since after next year DS will be going to the same high school as these murders went to! Makes me sick!!

completely awful and any child that bullies other children should be shown this story so they might realize the consequences of their actions

I hate to read stories like this. I don't know what goes through these kids' minds as they're beating someone to death.:icon_sad:

The parents were on Good Morning America this morning.

And over the weekend the local paper reported about a townhome being fire bombed and it was connected to the killing. Well it was aimed at the older brother of one of my son's classmates!! OMG, I'm so sick!! My son doesn't really see this kid outside of school unless he is over at my neighbors house as her son is friends with him.

OMG, i saw this morning too. I am so sickened over this! All of them need to be charged as adults and put away for life! I can't even imagine losing a child! My prayers go out to the family!
