Do you have a home resort - one that you stay at nearly every trip you make to Disney World?

If so which one is it and why did you choose it?

Our DVC Home is SSR but right now we are staying everywhere we can get in.

Our preferences are

POP Value if going on the Cheap

POFQ Mod if just doing a Long weekend.

As for DVC we have no problem and really Like SSR but as of right now.

BCV is our FAV followed very close by AKV . We will be tring VWL this coming trip and will most likely never stay at BWV again as we were just treated poorly and we have way to many other options for that to happen again ,Who needs them.

I would be happy in a 2man tent at FWC if it ment I could be at Disney.

We did WL in 07 and loved it! Then we did YC this past year and really loved it. We've been thinking of BW or POLY for this years OCT trip. I think we are on a try them all kick. If we go this spring we might try one of the moderates or another value...

Our DVC Home Resort is Vero Beach, but our favorites on Disney property are BC and WL, and off property Hilton Head.

We have never stayed in a deluxe resort but that will be changing on our next two trips so my answer will probably be different in a few months but as of right now our favorite resort is Coronado Springs followed by All star Music (family suite)
We have stayed at POR many times and enjoyed the resort but for us it just lacks something and the only reason we have stayed so many times in the past was due to having 5 in our party. We now have only 4 (daughter got married) so we will be exploring more resorts!

Beach Club hands down my favorite and we will be going there every time since we have gone to every other resort. I love it because of the pool, the way it looks, and the convenience of being close to epcot and hollywood studios.

POR is our home resort. We have stayed there 3.5 out of our 5 trips. We like it because it is centrally located in the World and has boat service to DD. It also has a great quick service food options at Riverside Mill , the best (non-DD) gift shop (IMO) on property, a great pool (Ol' Man Island) , a marina were you can do various boat rentals (mostly reserved for Deluxe Resorts), and of course Piano Bob!!!!. I don't particularly like the walk to Riverside Mill from the rooms but it won't hurt my wasteline to walk off the WDW food. Plus you get use of amenities of POFQ (like a two for one deal). Rooms are nice size for our family (3). We have also stayed at 2 Deluxe Resorts, WL (0.5 trip) and our last trip to AKL (10/08). Personally, I liked WL better but you can't go wrong with waking up to giraffes every morning outside your room. I didn't think we were going back this year but the DW is itching for another trip. If we go, we will go back to POR this time.

Great new website. Loved watching Spectro and Wishes the other night. Thanks again SM.

SSR is our home resort and we like it. But after trying for a few years to stay at the BCV we finally got in this past November and fell in love! It is just a great location and the pool - wow the kids loved it! WLV during the holidays is hard to beat too!

Our home resort is AKL, but we haven't stayed there yet.
We've stayed at the Beach Club, Boardwalk and SSR but will stay at AKL this year... probably... :D

Our home is BWV. We just love the location (walk or boat to Epcot, DHS), monorail to MK, and the activities around the BW in the evening. It's also great to be able to stroll over to Epcot in the evening for dinner, or a snack, or a quick ride on Spaceship Earth. We feel like BW is our "small town" and Epcot is our "big city".

Love this EyesOnEars.com Site !

Since 2000, we stayed on-site at Port Orleans Riverside (Dixie Landings), Coronado Springs, Carribean Beach, Pop Century, Allstar Music, Beach Club Villas, Saratoga Springs, Villas of the Wilderness Lodge, and Old Key West. Our Home Resort and list of favorites is Villas of the Wilderness Lodge #1 ! ! ! Then we really love Saratoga Springs, Old Key West, and Port Orleans Riverside. Well, then again, the Beach Club Villas are great, too. We've never been disappointed in any of the WDW resorts.

I actually like All-Star Movies. There is just something about the simplicity and theme that really feels like my WDW home. It's probably because it was one of the first places I ever stayed when I first got to go to Disney. I think my first was All-Star Music, but I have to say Movies is awesome. Toy Story and the Fantasia are my 2 favorite themes there.

I haven't gotten to yet, but I would love to stay at the Polynesian. Maybe it could be a future home! Oh the possibilities...:)

My DVC home is VWL. I'm on a quest to stay at every resort and DVC and have stayed at a good many but my current favorite is OKW. I love the space and the relaxed atmosphere.

The Polynesian for sure. We've stayed there the last five times we have gone and usually do a split stay with another resort. My goal is to try to stay at every resort.:)

I'm partial to the Poly, but I also enjoyed POFQ. Thought I might try WL next trip, but I sure would miss the monorail. I got spoiled by the Poly.

Our DVC home resort is SSR but we keep finding our way back to BCV. :icon_winkwink: We've stayed at ASMo, CBR, Poly, Contemporary, BWV, SSR, and OKW.

We haven't stayed on property yet, well I have, but as a family we haven't. This past time we rented a house. But, somehow (wonder how that happened :icon_winkwink:) we ended up touring the Poly and my DH fell in love with the place. He won't even hear about staying anywhere else next time.

Our home resort is BWV. We've also stayed at CR, WL, POR, POFQ, and POP. We've also stayed twice at HHI, in fact we just got back from HHI and have a March trip to BWV and possibly POR planned.

We fell in love with AKL some time ago and have usually planned our trips around discounts available for that resort. It's usually fallen into place because come Feb in WI, we can't take the crappy winter anymore and start the booking process, usually ending up with a trip in late April/Early May.

In 2006, I think, when the AKL renovations were going on, we were given the opportunity to swap our ressie for one of the other delux resorts and opted to do this. We chose the Contemporary and got a tower room for the same $150/nite. Uh, Wow! The convenience of that resort is making us rethink our fav. As wierd as it sounds, WALKING to the MK from your resort is kinda fun.

We STILL love AKL but have gotten the worst rooms there, over the bus stops, on the last 3 trips. (I know, ya get what ya's pay's for.)

All in all, AKL is still our clear fav.

When my 4 kids were younger we pulled our pop-up camper to Ft. Wilderness - so after 5 trips there, it felt like our "home resort" and we couldn't imagine going anywhere else. We loved being so close to MK. We have such fond memories of our trips there, and since we enjoyed the outdoors and camping and couldn't afford 2 rooms in a hotel for the 6 of us, it was a perfect fit.

My husband and I did a "without kids" trip last Jan to the Beach Club and we fell in love with the location - it is definitely more expensive than Ft. Wilderness but it was just the 2 of us and it was so worth it. We have the Yacht Club booked for this September and we hope we enjoy it as much as we did the Beach Club. We would love to stay at all of the resorts - but for now I would say our Favorite location would be the Yacht and Beach Club.

We also have to agree with what Jeff said...we love BWV!

Our second favorite so far would be VWL. We've also stayed at BC, OKW, POR, a long w/e at ASMu, but we always return "home".

Nothing so far can complete with those BW views.

Our "Home" is Saratoga Springs. We have stayed there a couple of times and at Old Key West once. We loved Old Key West because of the quiet, laid back ambiance and the spacious rooms. We've also stayed at Boardwalk several times and it may be our favorite because of proximity to Epcot and Hollywood Studios. Boardwalk also provide a lot of evening entertainment (primarily for adults).

Our "home" resorts are SSR and AKV. We have stayed Caribbean Beach, POR, OKW, VWL, SSR, AKV, BWV and Vero Beach. We are now loving Vero but for WDW property my fav is still Wilderness Lodge.

SSR, BWV and AKV are second!

For Mods, Caribbean and then POR:D

I've stayed all over but,

AKV is my home DVC Resort. I love the remoteness of it, I could spend a long weekend just the hotel and be perfectly happy.

When the trip is on us (i.e. I book it through Disney or whatever), we almost always stay at ASMo. We love it and it's perfect for our son who isn't quite 3 yet. He just loves the larger than life characters and theming in the room.

In January, my mother used some of her DVC points to send us on a trip. We stayed at a Villa at the Wilderness Lodge. I think anytime she decides to share her points with us we'll be there again. We loved it and if we could afford it, it'd be our permanent "home" resort.

Well I think you can figure out my choice...:icon_winkwink:

Ironically in 1997, my wife picked it & I thought it was too pricey. I am glad I let her pick - the Wilderness Lodge is such a wonderful relaxing place to stay. I just love the lobby; sitting by the fireplace or the hot spring. We've also enjoyed some of the small sitting areas that overlook the lobby from the upper floors. Last year I bought a bottle of wine & some cheese and we just relaxed as we looked down to the lobby floor by the fireplace. Or walking to the beach area & watching the Electrical Water Pageant.

A CM told us that WL has the highest return rate of all the resorts, but they may say that at all the resorts...

It is expensive, but well worth it IMHO.

kbmum - I understand what you're talking about just making a stay at the resort you vacation. We've made the same comment when at the Wilderness Lodge. Twice when I was in Orlando for business, I made the trek to the Lodge just to sit in the lobby, or get a snack at the Roaring Forks cafe. Now I want to go back!

WL is my "home" resort. We also have said the same thing about just going to stay at the resort and not got to the parks. Maybe DH could pull that off but probably not me LOL. I get all teary eyed when the guard at the front gate says welcome home.

Ahhhhhhh! Welcome Home ! We love that too !
The Villas at the Wilderness Lodge is our DVC Home Resort and our favorite resort. But, you know, there are so many close 2nd's ! We just enjoyed our 40th trip this past August and I don't remember being disappointed a single time at any of the resorts.

Hey ! It's Walt Disney World !

There are so many good reviews of WL. :) When we bought points at AKV, there were still a couple of timeshares available at WL. We thought about it, but the price was basically the same as at AKV and only 35 years left on ownership there, as opposed to 50 years at AKV.

We own both SSR & AKV and love them both. WL will probably always be my sentimental favorite beacause we spent our honeymoon there. Now that we have stayed at AKV I understand how someone could spend they're whole day (but not the whole trip  ) at the resort, it is really awesome!! But, after long thought & consideration (and having "lived" there for 2 weeks) I have decided on THV as my favorite because I could actually live in one of the villas. THV is more an extension of WL than SSR, and even though the villas are close to everything, you still feel like you are a million miles away, and I enjoy that feeling!!!
Disney gave SSR owners something special when they added THV!!!

I will also put in a good word for VB, we stayed there last year & absolutely loved it. There is a ton of stuff to do, or you can do nothing at all!!! :D:D:D

On our first trip to Disney we stayed at the AKL. We were hooked and purchased DVC when we returned home. Since we liked AKL so much we purchased in AKV, but we haven't actually stayed there again. There are so many DVC resorts out there I would feel like I was missing something if we didn't give them all a chance. Besides the AKL we have stayed at SSR and BWV. So far our favorite resort has been the Boardwalk (for Jelloyrolls :icon_no1: ).

I like all the positive feedback for the BCV, we will be there in a couple of weeks.

The first time we stayed on property was in 97, and it was at the Beach Club. When we went back in 2003, we stayed at the Contemporary North Wing with the Shades of Green discount. We bought DVC on that trip, and we decided to buy at the Beach Club because we love the area so much. Every return trip confirms our decision to buy there. We've stayed at OKW, SSR, VWL and AKL, and we still love BCV the best!

My DVC home is SSR but have yet to stay there my first DVC trip is April and we are staying at THV.

My favorite resort is WL followed by Poly.

Where do I feel most at home Fort Wilderness Campground, I started going to WDW in 1974 our first two trips we stayed at the Golf Resort (now shades of green) but the rest of my trips from the late 70's till the mid 90's we stayed at the Fort.

When we started going as a family we stayed at the All-Star Sports and I have no problem with them at all. I love the sports...

But we stayed at Wilderness Lodge one time and then that was home.

We then bought a resale for the Villas at Wilderness Lodge and have been there since. We added points and our home resort is SSR but we will never stay there. I did get my wife to stay at the Boardwalk in march of this year but our next 2 trips are back home at the Wilderness Lodge again. It is just home to us.

POFQ is probably our home location when booking cash. Especially if we can get a canal view.

Our home resort with DVC is SSR. While we have had great experiences with SSR, BWV, AKV, BCV, in DVC, we feel most at home at OKW. It is definitely the ambiance of the place. Each time we have been there we feel as though we are on two vacations at once, a Disney trip & a tropical getaway.
Away from the parks, VBR is lovely too. It's just hard to be away from WDW property, when you're so close.

My first DVC home is BCV and then I added on at AKL. We stayed at the BC in 97 for our first on-site stay, and it really feels like home to us! If we are out of points and need a cash room, our first pick is Shades of Green since you can't beat the price and the size of the rooms!

Our home resort is POFQ. My wife loves the New Orleans theme and the fact that is it a small resort. The boat ride to DTD is wonderful.
