View Full Version : Who do you fly? Waternoose 01-12-2009, 11:44 AM We have always flown Southwest - just started flying them and have never had a reason to switch. How about you? I'mNoPrince 01-12-2009, 12:13 PM Yup we are SWA flyers as well Best flights and times for our Needs we get 2 extra days in the parks because of this. We can sometimes get flights cheaper through AirTran but they change things and Times are not that great all the time. Drove once with a group for Paintball at WWoS and never again. tinkcrafter 01-12-2009, 05:35 PM We started flying US Air when it was reasonable to fly out of our home town..then those rates started climbing then we had to fly out of the next biggest city, an hour away. Non-stop flights on Jet Blue- Dunkin Donuts Coffee for dh and tv for the kid!! Jet blue's rates started climbing and we found we could drive to friend's in Baltimore and fly SWA out of BWI pretty inexpensive and flights can be changed with out penalties. Now, if we can catch Jet Blue on a good rate day, and our dates aren't going to change, we fly them otherwise, it is a 4.5 hour road trip for us and SWA. TiggerPiglet 01-12-2009, 06:12 PM We always fly Continental. My DH travels a lot and Newark is a hub of Con. He tends to rack up a lot of points, so we've flown for free quite a few times. Winnie 01-12-2009, 06:14 PM We always fly Continental. My DH travels a lot and Newark is a hub of Con. He tends to rack up a lot of points, so we've flown for free quite a few times. We do the exact same thing but dh gets Delta sky miles... Nothing like 5 free round trip tickets to Disney! Bill From PA 01-12-2009, 06:47 PM We have no brand loyalty, we go with the cheapest, earliest direct flight out of any airport within a 2 hr drive of home. We've used USAir and Delta out of AVP, Airtran and SW out of PHL and JetBlue from Newark. Shortly we'll hop AT at PHL for our next trip. Bill From PA MKbaconbits 01-12-2009, 07:15 PM We always fly SWA out of Providence. Best flight times to Orlando and back. They always seem to be on time or early - at least in the 8 years we've been flying them. Plus its much easier than going into Boston and pretty much cheaper too! GoofyJeff 01-13-2009, 12:00 PM We always fly SWA out of Providence. Best flight times to Orlando and back. They always seem to be on time or early - at least in the 8 years we've been flying them. Plus its much easier than going into Boston and pretty much cheaper too! Ditto for me, but replace Providence with Manchester. :) wdwnut 01-13-2009, 12:10 PM Used to fly Delta but they are way too expensive so we used Southwest and never looked back! And we also switched from Bradley to Providence, RI. Love TF Green airport! MKbaconbits 01-13-2009, 04:16 PM Ditto for me, but replace Providence with Manchester. :) Hey you're from MA too! My husband's grandparents and aunt lives in Billerica. I'm in Lakeville near Plymouth. mikey 01-14-2009, 08:29 AM I'm another Southwest Airlines Flyer! Best prices, times & usually early if not on right on time. Also, Southwest departs from Midway in Chicago, and I'll take Midway over O'Hare anyday. mom2mykids 01-15-2009, 02:16 PM We have only flown once and it was southwest. BUT I was online pricing fares from BWI (Baltimore) And I am kicking myself for not remembering but I priced for the 5 of us it was $400 something round trip....not that we are going anytime soon, LOL Diser08 01-15-2009, 09:05 PM SWA for me too!! You cant beat their pricing, and if the price is lower you can rebook and get the credit! MauiMouse 01-21-2009, 08:57 PM I've flown AirTran, the reason there is a non-stop flight pretty close to our house down to Orlando, everywhere else it's a good 2 hour drive or a non-stop flight. Plus so far AirTran gets me into Orlando early morning and leaves late in the evening. :icon_thumbsup: krasiva 01-22-2009, 09:07 AM SWA! We love them because they're always the cheapest, they have the best on-time (or early) record on all of our trips and they've been the friendliest. Plus, I'm always switching my flights with no charge! leeleetof 03-28-2009, 10:47 AM I check for flights every trip and it seems we always end up on SWA. Never had a bad experience, always runs on time and the cheapest. Never had a problem yet, of course I probably just jinxed myself, doh. mckryan 03-28-2009, 01:16 PM Delta here since we are in Atlanta. DH flies for his job, so we have lots of miles. We usually drive to FL, but we'll be flying for the next two trips. AirTran sucks, regardless of their prices, so I try to avoid them at all costs, and some of my best friends pilot for them! Ha! kbmum 04-01-2009, 12:20 PM We fly Delta out of Boston. They have the best selection of non-stop flights, which is great because I absolutely HATE to fly. wdwnut 04-01-2009, 01:41 PM Used to fly Delta but they are way too expensive so we used Southwest and never looked back! And we also switched from Bradley to Providence, RI. Love TF Green airport! Ok so i take that back, Delta actually had the cheapest flights for us this time out of Bradley. We usually go cheapest. We are lucky we can use 3 different airports and many different carriers. KVanHilton 04-01-2009, 03:01 PM My closest airport is Chicago O'Hare. I've flown both United and American this year. I will NEVER fly American again, I don't care how much more I have to pay for the tickets, American was the worst in coach (their 1st class was OK). We've signed up for United miles, so I think we'll be flying with them for the most part from here out. My mom always flew Southwest out of Chicago Midway, but it's another hour away from us. We've signed up for United miles, so I think we'll be flying with them for the most part from here out. My mom always flew Southwest out of Chicago Midway, but it's another hour away from us. we've had a similiar negative on AA - but then we ended up with the worst flight EVER out of MCO on United! They were in a hurry to get us on our way (last flight out of MCO) that they didnt turn the plane around, passengers got off, we were boarding in 5 min! and the storm hit, and we had to land in Kansas (I think) again, never getting off the plane! no drinks, no food, it was horrible! so we've gone back to whichever is cheapest - and I like to buy tickets as soon as they get under $200 RT - and I have notice they stay pretty close to SW ticket prices... fenwaygirl 04-02-2009, 11:54 AM We are from Central Mass and also only will fly SW out of Providence. It's a great airport with lots of direct flight options in to MCO. We usually take the 6:15 AM flight and land in MCO by 9:15...gain a whole day in the park:icon_lol: KatsMom 04-02-2009, 01:12 PM We tend to fly JB, SW and Delta. I fly with Delta if I get a fare that is really inexpensive. I prefer JB and SW. Love flying out of TF Green, it's a terrific airport. And we're only about 40 mins from Logan now...used to take much longer but with the Big Dig finally done, we have cut off about 15 mins or so. Actually takes less time to get to Logan than to Providence for us. |
